Meet Liv Simone
From Chicago to Los Angeles, Liv's passion for dance has taken her to train under top industry choreographers, work on set for some cool projects, and in 2017, create fun new projects of her own. Read below for Liv's insight on her inspirations, challenges, goals, and more.
Q: Who is Liv Simone?
A: I am a dancer. There is nothing I love more than dancing. I am 12 years old and I love performing in front of a crowd, big or small, I just love being on stage.
Q: When and how was your love for dance discovered?
A: As a little girl, I used to watch MTV's America's Best Dance Crew. I loved that show and I loved the performances. I knew I wanted to dance. When I turned 9, I really found my love for hip hop dancing. The crowd reaction is so amazing that I just wanted to learn more and get better and better. Expressing myself and pushing myself harder and harder is something I love about dance.
Q: The journey from Chicago to LA, what were some of your challenges?
A: Moving away from so many of my friends was really hard. I knew a lot of dancers and studios in Chicago so I was really comfortable. Coming here to LA, there were a lot of new faces and new places. The competition is crazy, but I love the choreography in the classes I have taken.
Q: What do you enjoy doing when you're not dancing?
A: When I'm not dancing, I'm normally hanging out with my family or some friends. I love movies and reading.
Q: What is your ultimate goal as a dancer?
A: My ultimate goal as a dancer is to travel the world and to dance on-stage. I love dancing to a crowd and to do that around the world would be a dream come true. I'd also love to become a choreographer.
Q: Who are some of your biggest inspirations?
A: Some of my biggest inspirations in dance are Andye J, Janelle Ginestra, China Taylor, Jade Chynoweth & Comfort.
Q: Who has been a huge support in your journey?
A: My parents have supported me from day one. My little sister keeps me laughing and I have a ton of family and friends who give me the love and support I need to reach my dreams.
